Handicap or Mascot – You Decide January 24, 2006

Norwegians are serious about their winter sports and will surely bring home a heap of medals from Italy next month.  They are no less accomplished when it comes to knitting. (like I had to tell you that)

So, let me first of all thank my Norwegian teammates for allowing this relative novice to join their hallowed ranks.  (Ti tusen takk)  And, let me also say that you must have felt it necessary to handicap the team in order to give Team USA and Team Canada a fighting chance.  I’m OK with that.  It’s not the first time I’ve handicapped a sports team.

I solemnly pledge, on the gold medals of Sonja Hennie og Bjorn Daehlie, to finish my gloves before the closing ceremonies and to NOT pester you constantly for engelsk translation hjelp, so help me Prince Haakon.
