What’s So Funny? May 1, 2006

Read a few of the wingnut blogs insisting that (MY new fantasy boyfriend) Stephen Colbert was decidedly unfunny at Saturday night's White House Correspondent's Dinner, and you'll soon be smiling. Turns out, truthiness isn't all that amusing to hypocrites, liars, the spineless and the Leader of the Free World.
BlueGal is advocating a mail-in "thank you, Stephen" campaign and posts his Comedy Central mailing address. I'm planning to send panties with a giant SWAK.
And while Malkin and other hate-mongers foam over today's protest marches, consider this brilliant and telling graphic on the third anniversary of the "Mission Accomplished" speech, courtesy of Think Progress.
Not. Funny.

I hear Stephen has discarded his entire panties collection to focus on the sweet anticipation of receiving yours.
He’s one lucky guy, AL.
you`re good. http://www.avermont.com
Colbert’s performance was sad, sad, sad. He did something that is absolutely wrong…. remind us of the cualities of the current president of the USA.
Conservatives live in some wonderland and can’t accept and even feel offended to consider the idea that someone who:
- was an alcoholic FOR MANY YEARS
- has VERY POOR language skills
- shows very little understanding, OR at most, a way over simplified understanding, of very complex subjects
- was a multiple-times failed bussiness man, always rescued by his daddy’s friends (who were always looking for favors)
- brings wedge-issues to the fore front every time society starts forming a concensus that his administration is probably the WORST ever
- (I could keep going on almost forever)
is qualified to be president.
Had he been the son of lets say… some teacher or mechanic or a policeman (all respectable profesions), he would be absolutely UNKNOWN.
I don’t think that George W. Bush is a bad person. He is just way outside his league. Completely and absolutely un-prepared for the job at hand. Which gives individuals like Cheney and Rumsfeld all the time, space and power they need to do as they wish while manipulating their presidential ‘front man’.
