OMG, there is a way into the heart of wingnut Michelle Malkin.  It's right here in this excerpt from today's post on the Haditha incident:

The investigations are still ongoing. That's not an excuse to ignore or dismiss the extensive reporting on the story. Yes, it's mostly one-sided at this point. But if, if, even a fraction of it is true, it deserves the most vehement condemnation and most severe punishment. Toddlers are dead.

Toddlers are dead.

That's right, Michelle.  Toddlers are dead.  According to this report from 2005, over 2,400 Iraqi infants and children under the age of eighteen died as a result of the U.S. invasion in the first two years of the war.

The unofficial accounts that have surfaced about the incident at Haditha, suggest that a number of Marines over-reacted to the bombing and killing of a member of their unit, going on a killing spree as they searched for the bomber.  The stories emerging are shocking.

Then again, so was the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 – sold to the public as retaliation against the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and/or the country's stash of WMD's.  Pick whichever trumped-up reason you prefer.  Both have since been invalidated by troublemakers, i.e. liberals, "blabbing" the truth.

That's what Michelle calls it.  Blabbing, as in dismissive, distracting, chattering noise.

The Haditha investigation must continue and if there are Marines guilty of these reported atrocities, they must be punished.  But the story shouldn't end there.

This war has been an atrocity from its very beginning.  Bush and his administration should be subjected to the same scrutiny for their role in the deaths of thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens.

Toddlers are dead, indeed. The Left has been "blabbing" this uncomfortable, distracting truth for years.
