Yes. It’s wrong. Yet, everywhere I turn here in the Methow Valley, evidence of a squirrel-worshipping culture abounds.
I found this book prominently displayed in a valley warming hut.

And, yesterday while skiing along the Methow River, I discovered this surprising wall of ceramic art tiles along the trail. I was admiring the tiles, their colors in the blue winter light all edged with fresh powdery snow, when I began to notice an unusual number of squirrel effigies.


Someone, please stop the madness.
