Yummmmm. And, let me just say that there’s nothing like a street art and music festival to make a pale-skinned northerner feel as though she’s getting a genuine glimpse of summer - especially when it’s 80 degrees under a cloudless sky.
Leave it to Texas to challenge essential “truthiness”™ by making wieners into winners and cows into losers.

big and blue and excruciatingly bad
The weekend’s biggest accomplishments?
I got drunk on color, talked to strangers in an airport and saved a rabbit’s life with my bare hands.
Who needs religion?

How did you save a rabbit’s life?
truth be told, it practically jumped into my arms. The panicky little thing was obviously released into the wild by someone who decided that a baby rabbit looked awfully cute in someone’s Easter basket, but was ultimately too much work to care for. Imagine. This little domesticated rabbit didn’t stand a chance in a wild suburban setting complete with dogs, cats and birds of prey. We tried all weekend to find its owner with no luck. By the time we left Monday morning, my DIL had given it a name, a sure sign that it had been adopted.
A sure sign…glad to hear it. Near where I live, the rabbits hide under the brambles, near the beach–soemtimes more of them, sometimes less.
