Knitting and politics?!? If I have to explain it, you’re not a knitter. Contrary to all ridiculous musings on why knitting is enjoying its current popularity, i.e., the outside world is a scary place and people are retreating to the safe harbor of home and hearth with their needles and yarn, I maintain that knitting is a political act. Wielding pointy sticks – whether in the construction of a garment or taking pen to paper, is an exercise of creative power.
Needles are the tools of intellect. Yarn and paper (or, in this case the computer screen) are their submissive servants.
Knit sharp. Write clean. Needle a conservative.
