knitting, that is. The end of Christmas knitting. A phenomena that finally occurred at my house around 2 p.m. Monday, when I dropped my DIL’s completed gift into the mailbox.
Take a look.
Here’s the long view of the pre-felted tote bag, all seamed and ready for it’s hot water bath.
To obtain the size I wanted, I needed to knit this bag to the approximate dimensions of the friggin’ side of a barn. The lime-y MC is Cascade 220 which I generously mixed with a turquoise shade of Artful Yarns “Mystery” [ Cascade 220 and “Mystery” acquired while yarn shopping with Leslie in Denver] and various other worsted weight and mohair gleanings from my stash. Lots of mohair.
Here’s a closeup showing the finished I-cord edging I added along the top of the bag.
Did I mention the five pounds of mohair?
The fulled bag received an unceremonial shearing, inside and out. My vacuum cleaner is still recovering.
A nice set of suede handles and voila!, it’s finally ready . . . and so very hard to part with.
