I was rushing out the door this morning – late for the office as usual with my head full of tasks and chores and my arms doing their usual balancing act with purse, bag, coffee thermos, coffee travel mug and keys and – wait . . . what’s that noise?
tick, tick, tick . . . like little balls of sleety ice, except it wasn’t sleeting. It wasn’t raining. Everything was perfectly still, except for that sound. And, then I saw them.
Leaves. Frozen leaves flinging themselves down in a clickity-clackity carom through tree branches and onto the crispy, frozen grass.
Oh, what-the-hell. The office can wait. Here’s a glimpse of my frozen world this morning, set to a symphony of falling leaves.
ice crystals on the kale
whirly seed heads on the clematis
Happy Friday, everyone.
