Coming off yesterday’s chocolate high (I take perverse pleasure in chomping on chocolate bunny heads) I found a missive from one of my favorite cub reporters tucked away in a corner of my email inbox.
It contained a link to this article about Eliot Spitzer, and linked the charges against him to actions of the financial industry under the lazy and condoning eye of the Bush administration. It’s a link worth following. And yet . . .
These sorts of comparisons make me uneasy, as does any argument that begins with something along the order of “I’m not excusing [his, her, their, insert whatever name or pronoun fits] behavior, but . . .”
And, in the case of Eliot Spitzer v. a predatory banking industry, let’s not forget the common denominator among their victims.
Ever wonder why women bite off that rabbit head with so much gusto?
