Disclaimer: If you’re not a knitter, this post will be of no interest whatsoever.
On the other hand . . .
If you are fond of yarny things, you already know about ravelry. Or, maybe you think you know about this site, like I did up until a few weeks ago.
I’ve been an official member for well over a year, but honestly, I had no idea how to plug in to the extensively useful tools at my fingertips. Sort of the ‘ruby slippers’ phenomena, if you ask me – all that untapped power and potential right under my nose!
For instance (and this is only one of the many things I’ve learned recently about the site) did you know that if you add your knitting books, magazines and pamphlets to your ravelry “library,” you can search for patterns – let’s say “skirts” – and the search engine will tell you which skirt patterns you already have on your bookshelf at home?!? OMG.
Check. It. Out.
If you are a knitter and you’re not a member yet – get on that waiting list right this moment. Then, come visit me there. I’m listed as “threadingwater,” of course.
