Scaring up the near dead as my favorite right-wing protester.
I think my mustache is better than the original:
Apologies to Greatest Husband for the Cardinal team’s involvement in this affair. Very unfortunate.

Golly, I just love watching the hits on this vintage post from 2007. Thought I might as well put it up front to make it easier for everyone to find.

Dig this exchange between Senator Al Franken (I still love saying that aloud) and a Hudson Institute drone who claimed that President Obama’s healthcare reforms would cause medical bankruptcies in the US to INCREASE.
So beautiful. So utterly, quietly beautiful.

'Meet the Press' Pot Holders - to stuff the pieholes of the GOP
Still recovering at threadingwater abode, but keeping my hands from throwing items that would seriously damage the surroundings by knitting up these swell pot holders.
That anyone with the label ‘Republican’ is not a laughing stock of the nation right now is really chapping my ass. How freakin’ DARE they even whisper a defense of their abysmally failed policies, much less sit at the same table with the likes of Barney Frank and Claire McCaskill?!? Friggin’ poster boys of the FAIL blog, if you ask me.
Dear Mr. President: FUCK bi-partisanship! Help yourself to a pot holder and stuff it down their throats while reading them the latest unemployment figures.
(hah. feeling better by the moment)

I know this is after the fact, but I had such a good time filming these little vignettes, I’m going to post them here anyway.
We’re home again. No sleep at all last night ~ just managed to get back to our hotel very early this morning, change out of our formal duds, pack, and catch the shuttle to the airport at 3:30 a.m. I’m so wiped that I actually slept through two take-offs and landings.
I’ll have a few more pictures and some final thoughts on this whole experience in a day or two.
And finally . . .

Highlights from Inauguration, Day One:
A group of District firemen take cameras from the crowd in order to get photos of the huge crowds at the Lincoln Memorial concert site.
